You might be able to go into your post and change it so that it doesn't come up on the first e-mail as July!

Thanks mate for fixing the dates....seems as though My head is a bit to flat for that. As for the Kuratau Ride, yeah, this is the 3rd consecutive year I am doing it, and I must confess, its one of my best mid winter rides on the calendar. Hope to see you there next year.

What can I expect in terms of terrain & difficulty?

Depending on the weather, the difficulty could range from relatively straight forward to darn right rude....lol. If you not a confident rider, stay off the AAA sections, especialy the one that goes down into the river bed. The terrain varies from farm land, paddocks, to forestry, swamps and quarrys. If its wet, its damn muddy, if its dry and cold, its icey and slippery. All in all its an awsome ride and one, like the Tarawera100 should be done at least once if not more.

I'd avoid that section no matter what. It was pathetically easy last year but took hours to get through as there was a line right to the top of the hill of riders backed up due to idiots trying AAA sections without the basic skills and as such holding everyone up.

Apart from that it was a wicked ride!

We found out that there was a few of those orange mongrel bikes at the bottom none of them seamed to like getting wet there was a few sitting upside down being drain of water was the biggest hold as soon as they got wet they sucked up half the bloody creek and died.

We are going down and really looking forward to it! I have checked weather forecast and looks like mud is on the cards...... in saying that I will not be venturing off onto AA or AAA tracks - I don't want to hold anyone up and don't want to have to throw tantrum when I can't continue on !! I am assuming that the AA, AAA, AAAA etc are marked off the track clearly?

Yeah mate, the AAA sections are clearly marked and generaly loop off of the main loop, so one really needs to make a consiouse decition to embark on them, so there is no chance you get onto them by accident.

And last year once you were on the AAA route that was it cos I didn't spot any loops back to the main track. What I found to be causing the hold ups was the sports quads that were bottoming out in some of the kick arse ruts. Took us 3 hours to do about 4 kms as a consequence! But in saying that, will be doing it all again in 3 days time! Bring it on.
