Just took my MR27 form in now and got charged at the new rate, am I late?

Hi I just extended my bike license by 15 months from today to 29/09/2011 and got charged at the new rate.

    Did I miss the deadline?

    I thought it was thursday?

My rego expires 09 Jan 2011 and the extension cost $374.82(for an extra 8 months and 20 days). By my calculations this is the new rate for 650cc bikes.

    What do you think?

Even if you pay early for your reg you still have to pay the new price as it is calculated from the time you reg runs out. (it is paid up until then)
Like if you pay late is starts from the time it ran out.
unless your reg runs out before the 1st there is no point in paying for it early.

Ditto, just went to do mine and was quoted at the new rate. I've phoned LTSA - if it is presently registered it is from that expiry date, so as above unless the existing rego expires today or tomorrow, don't bother.

    Wrong!

Up until two weeks ago,an MR27 got you 15 months at the old rates. Then they closed that option illegally.
There are claims going to disputes tribunal. and complaints to the Commerce Commission over this

You mean they closed a loop hole so everyone pays the same and no one gets away with cheating the system.

I had previously used the MR27 to change the rego on both my bikes to 30/06/10. When I went in to try new MR27 forms on the 28th of June to rego til 28/09/11, they were already charging at the new rate. I think Ixion had said they'd loaded the new fees toward the start of June. I'll be interested to hear if the commerce commission thing works out

I thought they might do this close to the end of June. I went in middle of May and took 15months at the old rate, tried it again 15 June, but by then they had woken up to the idea, and the new rates were loaded.
