I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

yeh, I'm unsure as to whether the 30 per rego is taken from the acc levy, or is an additional cost. It all goes into a biker safety fund for ad cmpaigns or traing or whatever apparently.

lol, don't you need the letter to put her on hold?

"Is it he?" quoth one, "Is this the man?
By him who died on cross,
With his cruel bow he laid full low,
    The harmless Albatross.

"The spirit who bideth by himself
In the land of mist and snow,
He loved the bird that loved the man
Who shot him with his bow."

The other was a softer voice,
    As soft as honey-dew:
Quoth he, "The man hath penance done,
    And penance more will do."

He will never rest easy in NZ if he Fks up ACC I will see to that

You do appreciate that the "hold" period only occurs at the end of the licencing period, right?

WRONG! There is no ACC in RUCs or in diesel at the pump. That is why they pay higher rego.

re: the diesel versus petrol cost thing.

What it highlights is the absurdity of chasing "user pays" by using statistics to draw little circles around groups of people for the purpose of targetting them with fees.

I asked my mate who works at ACC (he's a good bloke, I don't blame him for where he works) "why don't drivers of safer cars pay less ACC?"

Well, it turns out that safer cars would have to be charged more.

...because safer cars tend to be newer and more expensive cars - and owned by people with higher incomes; who cost ACC more.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

Time that journalists had some fucking integrity and started to asked the questions the people want answered not just those politicians agree to. Then again, most people wouldn't have a fucking clue what's going on and wouldn't care if they did.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
