Correct placement of reg and wof?

Today i got a $200 parking fine for my fully reg'd, fully warrented bike. The reason being "failure to display licensing in the correct manner". I wasn't aware there was a 'correct manner'. I have mine on the back of the number plate, you can see them if you have a look but it just looks a bit tidier than having them hanging out the sides. I thought this was ok? Do you think I have any basis to dispute the fine? Either way I think $200 is a bit steep considering that its the same price fine if it didn't even have a reg! And what is the correct manner to display it....

It's perfectly acceptable to display the WOF/Rego on the reverse side of your number plate.

Tell them to stick their ticket up their arse.

Not sure about the exact legal wording but this is on the NZTA website - "You must display this label on the inside left-hand side of your vehicle's windscreen, or for trailers and motorcycles, on or near your number plate."

Mine is on the back of my plate like yours and if I got a ticket I would definitely be fighting it.

I had a similar thing not to long ago. I told them to shove in, in a politely pissed off letter. Basically concluded saying, until you can prove that I've broken the law, expect the fine to remain unpaid. I'm not coughing up my money cos some lazy shit parking warden won't bend down to check my fucking WOF tag.

tis the season it appears. I had one, wrote in, called the warden incompetent (back of the plate) and they dropped it. I think the wording is something like close as practicable to plate?

Mine's on the back of my bike too.

Just take a photo of it and ask for an explanation as to why they don't have an employee vetting program to deter such retards from pissing off law abiding citizens.

My licence is mounted in one of the "proper" holders. The way the bike shop placed it, on the visible face of the plate, at the bottom, obscures the bottoms of the letters in the middle of the plate. i.e. you couldn't tell an "E" from an "F".

It's madness that "they" can (or think they can) dish out $200 fines for this area of murkiness.

$200 is standard for every city in NZ for not displaying rego or WOF. I had one years ago in the car where the slip had fallen out of the stupid holder and was lying on the passenger floor. Wardens will scan (looking for an easy buck) and if not there, ticket away. I just went into council, showed them the rego label, told them that it was on the floor and they said, "cool, giz us the ticket." No tantrum or bitch slapping needed.

The wardens obviously aren't told where to look for them on bikes.

This is gonna happen more and more. Guarantee.

Next you'll be saying that the warden that ticketed my flatmates car when it was parked on the road was incompetent. It was a ticket for parking facing the wrong direction on a one way road. I don't live on a one way road. The car was parked facing the correct direction.

wow, that's pretty impressive (on the scale of stupidity). What pissed me off, was warden doing a half arse job, and costing my expensive time to fix, plus simple loss of productive hours.

I have the reg/wof attached to the reverse side of my plate too, no problems thus far...

Must say I have'nt been challenged but then the Bikes only 6 months old and I have'nt been pulled up yet ....
