Is it more likely to not be able to ride the bike home because you dropped it than have a broken belt?
    Here for the ride.

Money isnt everything...you still have to ride that monstrosity everyday and people that might recognize you will see you on it and thats not worth even all the King Midas's gold!

Not to mention that none of you harley wankers wave at all! Lol

It's odd the old waving thing. Because I can ride whatever I like...I often ride Harleys one week, and a Busa the next. I wave to every other bike no matter what I am riding, or what they're on. BUT...it's more often the 'look at me I'm Mick Doohan' wannabes on the sports bikes that don't wave back to me when I'm on an HD, than the other way round.

And you are the official yard stick?, Your personal experience over rides all the other evidence of belts-breaking after picking up a stone including everyone on these forums whose had to replace a belt?, The sheer cost of getting it replaced in the event it fails should not be taken into consideration?

If they do its not solely due to the belt drive, more likely which ones you are referring to just don't like gravel. I presume you ride with "most HD riders" on a reguler basis and they turn back when they come across some gravel.

Either that or you just pulled that tidbit out of your arsehola.

Last I heard HD were going to buy Hyosung, steal all their leet technology and close them down.

(So expect some slow wanky looking bikes with reliability issues soon from HD)

    (Wait...Maybe its already happened)

Yup got 70,000km out of my last belt. On my IL4 on my 3rd chain at 65,000km.

Ya just can't win aye, messy system chains. HD intro new technology and are considered Agricultural. And the fucker's copy it.

Doesn't match my info - which is they are doing a deal for some 'Rider's Edge' (learner) bikes. Possibly a 500 single and a re-badged Aquila. Internet rumour only though.

Be nice to have a belt drive on my 'Busa but...evidently they're good for only the mild HP machines , hence the HD guys have them driving their back wheels . The belts are good and will last forever when driving something like a Sportster, but when you double the HP ( and increase the torque) like a ZX14 or a 'Busa or R1 etc, that's when the belt will fail and that's when you need some steel driving the wheel and, not a synthetic, rubberbandy thing .......The belts are great but, not designed to cope with real bigger horsepower bikes, one day, I hope they are ...can't wait
