I think the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades.or a game of fake heart attack.

same here...sat this morning about 20minutes, great tester, ear piece worked great. Two u-turns, onto the motorway briefly, the majority was 50km/h riding

    basic

sat my 6R on Friday the 20th, read this thread in the days leading up to the test and was both relieved and excited to read what you guys had posted. my test was in Porirua and after some pre test instruction from Andrew T from Roadsafe I was ready to be tested. my tester was a scotsman with a choice sense of humour which was both relaxing and worrying
It's funny that even after riding for close to 3 decades now, even after sitting my way through my full licence in West Aussie and even after doing rider training more than a dozen times at varying levels from basic to advanced I was still a tad nervey when it came time to "exit the car park and turn right"
I nailed the test with a 96% and apparently my only deduction stemmed from not indicating into a roundabout (even though I indicated out of it), though when asked I did tell my tester that I thought I could have gotten up to speed a little faster than I did (only tested in 50km and 70km zones) and that I felt I may have gotten a bit close to the double yellow lines down the road to Titahi Bay on our way back to the testing station, he just nodded and kept on writing out my temporary licence and making jokes at my expense.
I stood and chatted with Andrew for a bit and then headed home to finish getting my 'Blade ready for the trackday I went to on the Sunday..

thanks heaps to all those riders who posted to this thread, I appreciated all the advice and info you added.

Just returned from my 6R at Porirua. As the previous poster mentioned, it was just in the 50-70 zones around Titahi Bay road. It was very relaxed and the only thing I was called out on was not looking over my shoulder in a merge lane.

I had one U turn and two pull-in and pull-outs and a few roundabouts.

The guy was really nice and finished up in a car park rather than going back to the AA as he thought it would be really busy inside...

    easy peasy on my japanesee

    What's all the fuss about.

Obey all road rules ... Watch speed. Nod head around at appropriate times.
Did a couple of uturns medium st not a large street.
Drove as instructed at correct speeds ie. 80 , 100... However my speedo is not calibrated and I'm running about 12k off... Explains a bit. Good news I didn't speed once
Looked over shoulder left and right turns, merge, etc. Then back to AA.
Turn headset up and see if you can understand turn left into street vs turn left pull over.. got me with that but I explained and he was happy.

    Apparently full test is shorter...

    Will update in 6 months...

    Good luck be safe

So you had the first hand experience with the longer restricted tests? Good on ya mate, follow all the rules and the test is pretty easy no matter how long it is. I have to ask though, did you get asked any stupid questions like where are the demisters (not that this would come up on a bike) or how do you turn on the high beams? Watch the video on http://www.3news.co.nz/3-News-sits-t...fault.aspx#top where one of the tv3 reporters sits a mock test. Like I said, had to ask

hey honestly i had been forewarned .. .i did a lesson with the Hamilton Motorcycle School - Ward Fisher (ps. highly recommended if in Hamilton cars and bikes) http://www.roaduser.co.nz

No questions get asked other than the spot check .. left indicator , right , horn and break lights.

This was the restricted license. I was waiting for the hazard identification where you pull over get off bike and walk back to car and tell them about what you saw at previous intersection. Didn't happen.
