My bloody driveway was iced up this morning. And I'm 100m from the beach up the coast.
Stepped out of the house, took one look at the driveway and decided on taking the car.

Ice??? The only thing frozen was me. Got to Petone and took a good half hour to thaw out, Then again half way up the Tukas on the way home. Must be getting soft. Need to tuffen up before September!!!
Im out there each morning. Leave home at 7.15 and head off to Petone. Didnt come across any ice.. I was freezing!!!! Although, I saw a few signs of accidents from overnight. just south of whakatiki st and SH2 And on the Petone bridge by Laser strike.. Then i also A ute facing the wrong way on the Petone nth bound off ramp, with a Police car parked in the fast lane O.o ??
The only stupid question is a question not asked!
Will I normally commute every day from upper hutt, but have had the flu since friday so have been laid up in bed, this could be the first time I'm happy having the flu lol.
OK, I was about to make some smart arsed comment about pussy riders, But decided I'd own up to the fact that I took the 4WD to work yesterday and left the bike at home.-8C was even to cold for me.
Took the bike today though, it was a nice balmy -2, and nice glistening ice.![]()

Time to ride
That's where cagers are our friends. Their lovely tyres carving a clean line for us.
I've lived in this particular Johnsonville street for only 4 years, but first time I've seen ice from one side to the other. I just clenched cheeks and rode through. Mr. Michelin saw me right.
I used to be a mainlander (cantab). I've realised living in Wellington is making me soft, unfortunately.
