Boulevard screen?

I have a C50T with the factory windscreen.

I find the screen to be too tall. The top of the screen is right in my line of sight.

On a sunny day the shiney chrome reflects onto the screen making it difficult to look through.

At night it's even worse with the lit up speedo reflecting onto the screen (like a 'heads up display' but back to front).

On the open road it's not too bad because I'm looking a long way forward but around town it's terrible.

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it? Are there short screens available to fit the Boulevard? (I don't want to get the original screen cut down, I want to keep it if I sell the bike)

Also, do you know if I can get foot boards for the pillion to replace the foot pegs?

Have you adjusted it down? They are adjustable for height and angle. It took a bit of experimentation, but I got mine at exactly the right height and angle for me, (5'11"), and after fitting the excellent VA Lowers, I get the best ride as far as wind and vision goes.

Yes you can get foot boards (Suzuki ) dealer or www.cruisercustomizing.com, screen as Edbear has said you may have to drill your holes a bit lower....

If you want to consider a smaller screen I currently have a Givi A660 fitted on my Boulevard. I wouldnt be without it but it would be quite a bit smaller than your factory screen. Ordered it one day and picked it up the next. Took about an hour and a half to fit it myself, and anyone with a bit more intelligence would do it in a lot lesser time. Good luck.

That sounds like the screen I need.

Where did you get it? Do you recall the cost?

I'll look at the adjustments but I thought it was fixed.

The gap between the bottom of the screen and the head light is minimal so I not sure it can be lowered any more.

What are 'VA Lowers'?

Got them from Value Accessories in the US, delivered to my door in 4 days from order! They are chrome lower deflectors that fit to the forks and deflect the wind around the legs to prevent it curling up under the screen and causing wind buffetting of the helmet.

Do check the adjustments, you may be able to find a setting that suits you.

I got it through Red Baron Yamaha in Aucks and I fitted it on to my Boulevard M50 06 model at the time and simply transferred it across to the C50 when I traded it in. I think it cost somewhere around a shade under 200 bucks. It was shipped up overnight from New Plymouth. I never go anywhere without it and was eternally grateful when we hit some extreme cold in the Lindis pass area coming back from the warbirds over Wanaka earlier this year.

I rode all my life without a screen....thought it was sissy, and those that had them fitted should harden up

I fitted one to my last bike, a C90.....Have just changed my bike for a C109R and it was the first thing I asked the dealer to fit....I wouldnt be with out one now....yep, maybe I should harden up but geeeeeze am I more comfortable with one...no buffet...no real cold wind....not as shagged when I get to my destination as I used to be......I love it.

Yeah, I'm the same as you T.C, used to ride without one but always ride with one now. Must be getting soft in my old age! Probably why they call them a whimp screen.
