    I crashed (BUT I'm alive)

So Today I crashed my bike (Hyosung GT250R). Hit a ditch was off road for about 30 meters then came off. :S I'm alive though which is a good thing. I came off and got help from a passing car and I was back on track. Damage: Front left indicator taken off and front left fairing cracked about 150mm.

What happened happened I guess, now I'm having a cry about cost of repairs

Anyone know where I can get cheap parts? :O

Oh well I was going through a corner and I didnt give enough turn and I went into a ditch and went off roading for about 30 metres and in that time I guess I was doing a bout 20kms or less when I fell and doing probably 50 around the corner :S

I've heard hyo spare parts are as cheap as chips.. ring around dealers/wreckers.
Glad to hear you're alive though! Better to be alive and paying for spare parts than dead!

Yes this is very true but you must train yourself to do otherwise, young padawan.

I always try and ride with a constant sense of "what if?" running through my mind so that I try to keep myself mentally prepared in case something happens like you have just experienced.

Glad to hear you are ok though and I hope you learn something out of this.

Im assuming that you will get the bike checked by a mechanic before riding it again? You may have damaged more than meets the eye.

Our son's faring is currently in at Anything Plastic in East Tamaki getting a couple of small cracks to his faring welded. This is the second time (both from overbalanced low speed drops).....

The welding alone is not too pricey (we were told about $45 for that), but it gets a whole lot more costly when it needs to then be filled, sanded and painted. Most places should be able to give you a fair idea of likely cost if you take it in for them to look at.

p.s. glad to hear you don't seem to be hurt. In future, don't get mesmerized by patches/ditches etc. road side. I ended up in deep gravel once and thankfully didn't come off, but it taught me a valuable lesson on target fixation.
