I work in a field that many would consider to be extremely dangerous, there is a ever present risk of serious harm or death if people do the wrong thing at the wrong time. People regularly look at things that I & my employees do & tell me I am bloody mad, sometimes I think I am too.
Over 25 years , still have all my fingers & toes, 1 lost tiime injury for a stuffed back. Safety is paramount in situations where I have had guys walk off site by morning smoko on their first day because it is too tough.
I work in a bloody dangerous environment , I work on sites through out the country for many different companies, that is why I & my clients don't put up with dumb shit.

As an aside , I suspect if the carpark was open to public access , road rules might apply. If the carpark had restricted access solely for employees then OSH laws would take precedence .I would not want to be the poor bugger that was the test case.
Basically the road regs apply anywhere you can drive a vehicle. The OSH laws apply when you are at work, in a work vehicle on the way to work and in the carpark owned by work. If you were in a carpark that was owned by a 3rd party but under the control of the employer you would still be at work.

So, I should not go over 104.9kph at Hampton Downs and should only pull Wheelies on the way home? I suppose rule 1 would apply in that case, just that the Boss won't get the OSH bill.

nah dude you can get done for doing them in a carpark, trust me.

Unless its fenced off and you can't drive into it, i.e., the public have access to it then its all fair game for the coppa!
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

mmm, we have one of those electronic gates which is sometimes open and sometimes closed depending on the time of day, sure would be confusing for the layers to sort out.

If you can drive there its a road under the road code. The gate has nothing to do with it.

Back to the topic in hand. Don't do dumb shit at work. If the bosses see you doing some thing that you could be charged with dangerous driving you will be very lucky to keep your job. Good jobs are hard to come by.

One would hope you are a better Boss than you are internet Lawyer. The law only applies to public carparks like at the park or the beach etc, not private car parks or your driveway.

"public' means the public in general, and not just a section of the public,

it is not enough that the place is physically open to the public - they must be shown to be actually using it."

Well there you go, I learnt something today, thanks.

You can't get charged pulling a wheelie at work only sacked.
