    It's new bike time!

Over the last couple of weeks i have sold my RM250 dirt bike and my YZ400 VMX bike.
The YZ just wasnt getting used enough and the vintage mx scene around the waikato is pretty quiet and i was having to travel too far for a ride.

So i was looking at the ADV bike and thinking do i upgrade ????

The DRZ does everything i need it to do,although a little more power would be nice
but that would be very detrimental to the demerit points.

As i tend to ride the dirt bike more than the ADV bike the DRZ is safe for now.

So a new dirt bike it is then but what ?????????
Another 2 stroke, a 300 perhaps. Might be getting a bit old for a 2 smoker now.
Like the lecy leg to for when i get tired, so that would mean a KTM 2 stroke.

There's enough of you guys riding KTM's at the moment and ( wait for the fallout ) they have never really done it for me.

Enduro bikes are quite heavy ( and its easier to buy a lighter bike than having to lose weight myself ) but MX bikes as a rule dont have lecky start.

Not sure i am ready for an EFI dirt bike yet, have no problem understanding them but that means i would have to take it to a dealer for repairs.
I am far to miserable for that.

So watch this space, cause i am dying to get dirty on something.
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

Mate, this is funny, cos I have been watching you ride the DR for a couple of years now and am impressed by the way they can haul your ample motocross bod around...
I myself have taken a plunge, but want a trail bike and the DR400 looks more than capable as you have shown.....
I won't hijack the thread but suffice to say, the 625SXC is lighweight Enduro racer and wickedly fast.....In the right hands...(not me till I get usd to it) will keep up with Anthrax and co...BUT, I prefer to have two wheels on the deck the majority of times unless it is horizontal most of the time....

I had a go on a TM300EN. Fookin wicked, but the importer is a cocksucker with poor part/technical support.

You should really try and get a ride on a YZ250F. Sure it's got no lecky start but they start really easily anyway and are easier to ride fast for the entire ride than a 2 stroke for us old unfit guys. Just ask Cary how well they perform with one of larger stature aboard them. Then there's always the new KTM 350.

seems to me that you'd be bored on anything other than a 250-300 2 stroke or 450f
a 250/300 wouldn't be different enough to your old rm so that leaves a 450+f

a 530exc would be nice but you don't like orange

have you looked at the 570 roostabergs? or does the efi rule them out?
