    Antifog stuff

Hi, Anybody found a good anti fog applicant yet? I ride each night in the Waikato and fog can be a real hassle.with clear riding glasses and helmet visor ( part urban, part rural ). Visability gets cut in half with fogging up.

I have tried rain x antifog and Scott's antifog. Neither last very long. Are there any other makes avalible? Cheers.Arthur

What type of helmet do you have? You might be able too get a antifog insert rather than a appilcation

P.s a piece of tape works!

Yeesh mate! This has been covered a lot on this site.
Here goes, IMHO the anti fog inserts are by far and away the best solution.
Depending on which brand of helmet you have (Arai, Shoei etc..) you can buy a visor and insert affair called a pinlock.
If this set up is not available for your helmet you can buy just the insert that sticks to the inside of your visor which does the same job but is a more awkward affair to set up and once on it's a done deal.
Try to find a Pinlock set up for your helmet first, if not ask your local bike shop about the antifog aftermarket inserts.

I would recommend Pro grip does a brillent job of stoping the fog and cuts glare slightly

I used to get this issue alot and investigated the pin lock system, but it wasn't for my helmet. When visiting Motomail, I came across this product which I think is awesome. Now i ride with the visor down all the time, Akl to Rotorua at night with no fog what so ever...

Spray soapy water, let it dry. This is what we used to do for paintball all the time when we didnt have any 'products'.

A product called 'cat crap' works OK about $10 from your bike shop. Note to need to do about 3 applications for it to work properly.

Pinlock works better than anything I have ever used, and I have tried almost everything available. Stops fogging completely. The inserts work, but the pinlock is the best, by far. IMO.

+1 for the pinlock system but this only sorts your visor out. As for glasses, you could try products like 'de-mist' etc - go to your local hardware store and see whats available, read the bottles to see how many applications are required for the product to be effective.

I think the guy who comes up with a pinlock system for glasses will be a very rich man.

Rubbing the inside of the visor with a cut raw potato is suppoed to work.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

My Nolan helmet came with the pinlock insert, though not fitted. I tried the helmet 'as is' and found that it did fog up really easily. It doesn't come with a breath guard, so I just kept it open a crack. Then I fitted the pinlock insert and tried it - it does not fog up at all, that insert really works!
