Headed over to Palmy North today mid arvo from Hawkes Bay to Anza and got me Trump ECU flashed to suit aftermarket pipes etc
No biggie, job done so I pointed the red and white beast towards the east and off I pootled. Traffic was building both ways as 1 would expect late on a Friday prior to a fineish forecast weekend
Gassed up at Caltex Woodville took me sunnys off and chugged North - chug being the operative as the queue travelling North was getting longer - WTF - way in the distance a large white burdoning F>>N campervan getting all and sundry to play follow the leader ! Typical
Well as luck would have it Mr Hwy PatrolMan was cruising back South so as he eased on by I gave him the Seig Heil lefthand salute and gestured that ALL was not well pointing /fisting the air towards the culprit
Few seconds later and low and behold I spied the blue/red flashy things in me rears
Hmmmmm.... - did he take exception to my glove ?
Could there have been an accident ?
Ne ways he shot past guns ablazing and further up the road at the top of passing lanes he had collared the F>>k
    Good job
As I waited my turn ( respectfully ) to pass up the double lanes the lovely Officer gave me a wave and thumbs up for dutifully bringing to his attention this potent ticking timebomb of a Menace - SLOW F>>N DRIVER !!!!
    Thanks again Mate
    You made my day
You also made the day of many frustrated drivers that were strung out like intestines playing Camperwanks game of " I dont give a Toss "
Probably averted a few near misses and perhaps a possible Bad one

    Good Work

Sure the cops get a bad rap,but they have to put up with shit from guys who sped etc, hell each time I have been caught speeding I deserved it,not for 2-3km over(well one was in a 70km,for 74km towards cop and 83km away, guess what I was hit with),aside from that one which I was pissed off,the rest I deserved, and last one 118km(thought I was 125)was my fault, cop was good to me.I was civil to him,and have been with guys who after cooling down and ranting at highway patrol, was advised if he had kept his cool would've been done for excesive speed only, not crossing line mid corner, and other stuff(which he did)end of dayinstead of $120 fine he copped(excuse pun)$500 and enough points to be walking.

I admit to being 828mgs 10years ago,at 4.00am,was civil to officers, they accepted my excuse of too pissed to walk, and even drove my car and me home, being civil to cops meant the judge was leniant($800 not 950 fine and 6mths not 9mths disq)as the guy before me in court recieved but judge said attitude was everything, funny how now on police 10/7 you hear dic culprit gets $500 and 6mths for similar reading,so much for hammering drink drivers.

I nearly did a runner the other day, but thought better of and stopped. Officer said he thought he had a chase on his hands and asked me why it took so long to stop.

I told him several years ago, my wife had run off with a cop and I thought he might be bringing her back

Ohhh now i understand i was doing it wrong all these years, so when i get pulled over and suck their cock..they will be nicer to me! (instead of coming up with more unfair ways to "punish & fine" me because i dared to question their judgement)

Cheers, you probably saved us all heaps of money (and self respect)!

    The luck Of The draw

Cops are strange buggers. Some of them can even be called human. Most, probably. But being human means you take with you, on the day, all the shit you wish you didn't have but do have. Or all the good stuff which just happened. Thus what recently happened colours your day....their day.

So cop one is tooling along thinking about the infant which just last night came into his arms, or the blonde who blew him to glory, or he beat the pants off the local dart team. He's feeling good till I hove over the horizon doing 120ish. But he's in a good mood. I get a warning.

Then there's cop two who just found his missus sleeping with a member of the Mongrel Mob, on account of he's not much of a goer. He's real pissed and looking for any outlet to assuage his rage. He can't beat her up on account of he's a cop. I hove over his horizon doing 106. He pings me and rants on about the law.

But all he's doing is off-loading his shit on me, like the good cop was offering me a part of his breeze.

There ain't no anser to it folks. Except to say, 'When you get Vlad The Imapler on a good day, then you're lucky. Get him on a bad day and you're poop-hole will pucker.'

It's just the nature of life. They...The cops...have the power. What affects their judgement about how to deal with you....you horrid transgressor....is their mood on the day.

And to expect them them to act like robots is childish. They're humans....well, mostly, suffering, and/or enjoying all the huamn shit we other humans suffer and enjoy.

I have to say, I kinda like cops. They're between me and the real bad guys.
    Only 'Now' exists in reality.

I usually do that but I print off the temp one they tell you to print off and poke it in the rego holder if in the car, or carry it in my pocket as proof.

I think you'll find the offense is "failure to display" a current registration label?

I went for a quick ride to opotiki last thursday and on my return trip to whakatane i came into kutarere and the police had a checkpoint set up with a lot of cars on the side of the road getting tickets. so i pull up to the cop who directs me to the side of the road and asks me to take my helmet off. while im taken my lid off he looks at my warrant and reg the breath tests me and looks at my licence. I was thinking here we go fuck im done since im only on my learners but to my surprise he said do you no your riding outside your licence conditions. I sad yes sir i am then he gives back my licence and say's have a nice ride and keep your speed down. so i put my helmet back on and rode off slowly. what a nice cop.

The old man always told us there were just as many thieves in the police as out. I have added to the police piggy bank over the years. Fair dues as by the law I was speeding even though some of them, I felt, were just gathering pennies for their annual xmas party than real cases. But so be it. Was stopped on Hwy 27 one day and received my piece of paper to add to the collection, but before we parted company he told me where his mates were hanging out further on up the road. I consider it more a game than anything else, always smile and wish them a great day.
