Met a few good ones....
a few very good ones...
maybe another couple of dozen or so get accredited on this forum here with unexpected decent human behaviour...
Am even willing to consider the possibility that the vast mayority is ok....
And no doubt it is a tough and often thankless job.....

But I swear to God, the force has more then a fair share of first class wankers prancing in uniform..

The old man always told us there were just as many thieves in the police as out. I have added to the police piggy bank over the years. Fair dues as by the law I was speeding even though some of them, I felt, were just gathering pennies for their annual xmas party than real cases. But so be it. Was stopped on Hwy 27 one day and received my piece of paper to add to the collection, but before we parted company he told me where his mates were hanging out further on up the road. I consider it more a game than anything else, always smile and wish them a great day.

Who gives a flying fuck how many looser-certificates you end up getting and have to pay for - it's a piece of piss NOT to get them.

Still, if that's what you enjoy doing to give yourself something to moan about feel free to carry on....

A) I have to produce my licence. I do so and show it to the officer. Can I keep possession of it though?

Depends how fast you were going....

B) He asks me to get out of the vehicle. Do I have to? It's just a minor speeding thing, say.

I saw a woman sitting in a traffic cop's front passenger seat with the copper in the driver's seat after an obvious stop and it looked dodgy to me, very dodgy.

Can "inspect" the licence... Gotta hold a licence at arms length, then closer, then back out again, just so one can see it, these days.....

Getting out of the car can be for a check of ones sobriety... as in drugged/stoned and can't stand, for example.... not just pissed, which is easier to detect?

Late last year I got on the Te Atatu on-ramp which curves around for like 270 degrees. So I
had the bike cranked over a fair bit and as I straightened up I wound the throttle out a bit as
I merged onto the NW motorway. Zapped along a bit then eased back to 100km/hr. Looking
in my mirrors I see a new blue SS Commodore weaving thru traffic behind me. I'm wondering if it's a cop or a guy wanting a race. So I move into the middle lane, followed 3 cars back by
SS guy. I then move into the slow lane and he cuts over as well and flicks on the party lights.
"Shit!" I'm thinking. I pull over at Western Springs and he pulls in behind me, while a regular
police car pulls in in front of me.

COP: Do you know why I pulled you over?
ME: (trying to be as polite as possible) I guess cos I may have been going a bit fast back there?
COP: Yup. I clocked you at 136kmh for 600 metres back there. You can come and have a look at the radar if you want.
ME: No it's ok, I believe you.
COP: Any reason for your speed?
ME: Um, is there anything I can say that will make any difference?
COP: Well you could say that it's a beautiful day, you're on a beautiful bike with heaps
of go and you felt like giving it a bit of a wind out....
ME: That pretty much sums it up.
COP: Sit tight for a minute....

He goes away, checks my drivers licence, has a yak to his mate in the other car (they were both Brits) and lets me off with a warning...AWESOME!! He explains that him and his mate
are both into bikes and that "you really need to choose the right place if your gonna open up
on a bike - we're everywhere you know" So yeah....a nice Bobby.
He also told me that they quite often get 2 cars involved when they clock a speeding bike, as
they quite often do a runner.

Life is full of shit we don't want, including laws we may not agree with but if you break one and get pinged then suck it up, the only one it really affects is YOU eh!
Sure if it's speeding tickets that get on your goat and you don't like them/too thick to slow down you have two options; accept the *tickets or do runners, you may be the luckiest person in theworld and may never be caught/bin.

Many moons ago I was late for work and hooing into Welly from Tawa doing about mumble mumble ks. Parked high up the bank was Mr Rozzer and sure nuff the lights appeared in my mirror a few ks later.
And how fast were you going sir? Well if he doesn’t know I’m not going to tell him I thought so we did the ‘I dunno’ ‘you must know’ dance. Eventually he said if you had been doing 100ks you would be about were we are now so off you go and get up 5 mins earlier tomorrow ok!

The officer driving the dog van towards town on Wairakei road last night at 9:45 wouldn't have had to stomp the brake pedal so hard if he wasn't sitting right up the arse of that 4WD. He was following so closely that I pulled over to watch what I thought would be some fun... but no, 4WD turns off (cue massive braking effort from dog van), dog van keeps going... no lights, no apparent interest in the 4WD, no hurry, just another tail gating retard. 1 or 2 metres from the car in front is not how an intelligent officer drives, or so I would have thought.

Was scootering along on the Raro holiday with the wife behind cage. Saw the cops trapping in the distance (yes they have cops on the island, all two of them) - though nothing off it as I was behind the cage.

Next thing they pull me over and say, do you know you were speeding? You were doing 50kph (in raro without a helmet you can only go 40kph). Me says, How did you know I was behind a car! She brings over the gun and shows me the 50kph

Wife says, just pay the fine and get it over with. Gets my wallet out and shows my $20 fancy laminated freshly printed Cook Islands licence. She says, ok we won't give you a fine, its just a warning, please go 40.

Next time you are pulled over for speeding, ask yourself 'Was I speeding? Yes, pay the fine. No, can I prove it... no Pay the fine.' don't argue

I think the "dispute in court" option is probably better way to go about tickets vs. "doing the runner"...but you cant win them all, i guess its the fun game we play with you guys when we speed
Who knows maybe if speeding wasnt against the law i wouldnt enjoy it as much...
