i am guessing it would be a case of being hoist by your own petard. You might find the 20 seconds of evidence showing you were not speeding when the cops said you were so get off the 20 demerit points or whatever, but then get done for dangerous driving due to other evidence on the tape, like the 160km/h wheelie past the girls school, or undertaking a mufti car at 130.

I don't know if I can agree with this. I have exceeded the speed limit a few times without being caught, but if I am trying to mend my ways and am currently being well behaved riding at 84kph (on the speedo, probably under 80kph in real speed) in an 80kph zone then I am not going to be happy to receive & pay a ticket.

What is the point in riding legally if you are going to get a ticket regardless? I have seen suggestions that people that ride/drive fast should slow down, in TV ads and on signs by the road for a couple of examples - why heed such warnings if you are to get ticketed anyway and then be advised that you should just pay up because of 'karma'?

Always ask Mr Plod to show last speeding ticket and check if same or different speed entry.

What you are suggesting is that he locked a speed on and then stopped more than one vehicle based on the one reading.

Again, there are enough people speeding, do you really think they have to make it up?

Out of interest, they are under no obligation to disclose the details of someone else's offending. You can ask, but you can't insist. Also, if you ask, be ready to be told to put the request in writing.

    So there.
