That's just too sad for words, and they tried to turn it into a chopper FFS

Never fear.... the offender, when caught, will be dealt with harshly by the courts. He will get all of 200 hours of Community Service. That'll learn him....

true too, but the main difference is that Joe Publics "average" production bike can be easily replaced by insurance. this type of bike (the McIntosh) can't. Would be the same if say a Britten was cut up/destroyed.

I'm of the opinion that thieves should have to qualify for their chosen profession by proving they can

    1. take a baseball bat that's lubed with Tiger Balm up the arse for 24 hours without a single scream.

Sadly catching the bad guy won't bring the bike back to what it was.

The LackOfJustice system will give him/them community service, lots of counselling and a a big cuddle.

I forgot to mention that if he had cut himself while hacksawing he would also now be on ACC. How the hell do they assess 80% of a thieves income?

When this thing was selling on trademe (after a total resto that cost many tens of thousands) I commented on the auction that it should be in TePapa next to the Britten, as an example of Kiwi ingenuity and skill. It's a bastard that such a historic bike has been reduced to wreckage.

Surely some of those parts - partiucularly the wheels - should be obvious when they pop up in the marketplace?

    Keep your eyes open bikers.

Any Idea what the price was Bender that would give an idea of the market value??
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

If my memory serves me correctly (and it often doesn't these days) it was $60K - and that' about what they had spent on the bike's restoration.

The japs sink the most beautiful boat ever built and now this. I'm waiting to hear that all remaining Brittens have been used as a stunt bike and written off.

You just know that if this fucktard goes before a court he's just gonna get a slap on the wrist a $200 fine that he wont pay..and a nice rest at home while on home detention...a 50cent bullet would be cheaper and make more of an impact on this dickhead..kneecap him first
