And "some words" of significance for my partner on my lower back right by my arse.
I want more, but just haven't got around to it yet. I want to extend the design on my left ankle to come up around my leg. And I want to add some colour and bits and pieces to my "words" on my lower back.
Stify is getting his first this Sunday.

The totally ironic part, is that getting the tattoo done there would have hurt like a cunt..Originally Posted by WickedOne

I dipped out like that, when I got mine done it was considered anti-social and almost exclusivly servicemen, criminals, skinheads or bikers that had them.Used to get stared at in the street(mine were a bit excessive for the time),refused service in pubs e.t.c.Now it`s gone mainstream and everyone`s got them, there are 5 tattoo parlours in the city-centre and plenty more in the surrounding areas. This in a city with 3 decent book shops.I didn`t get an earring because everyone else I knew had them, now I`d avoid tattoos for the same reason,it`s a fashion not lifestyle thing now, or at least go for something totally different.Plenty of idiots here with soccer club badges tattooed on themselves, best bit is often they`ve never seen the teams except on t.v. It`s the "herd" thing I hate, you`ll women here with a dolphin or rose on one shoulder and a top halfway up their back showing off some kind of tribal design,as a fashion statement it strikes me as pretty bloody permanent and I reckon whoever comes up with makeup that will convincingly cover these things up will make a killing when they go out of fashion, which they will.Originally Posted by Big McJim
I doubt it.. some things like roses often have sentimental reasons for getting and dont seem to go out of fashion at all. Was popular 20 years ago when i got mine and prob just a much today, esp for women. And very personal to me as well. Tribal/celtic designs often have a lot of meaning to people as well. Sounds like you are kinda dissing people just cos they like to show them off? Maybe I'm wrong...Originally Posted by moko
Maybe some get tattoos as a fashion statement (more fools them I say), but most people I personally know have generally had a lot of thought go into getting one and what their designs would be. Not a spur of the moment thing, tho strangly enough my last one wasGetting it wasn't but FINALLY seeing a design I liked and getting it there and then.. was.
