WOF placement + rain = can't read WOF sticker

I have my wof in a little plastic thing attached to my licence plate along with my rego. The problem is that when it rains they get wet which makes the writing on the wof illegible and you cant tell if it's expired or not. I've heard of people who put their wof and rego somewhere else getting stung by parking wardens who think the bike has no wof. I'd like to avoid this so has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can do to stop this?

i used to seal mine with selotape which lasted in the rain a bit longer. now just carry it in my wallet as i dont park in town

never had a problems when stopped by the cops as the details about reg and wof must come up on there computer - have never been asked to show it

but as you stated parking wardens are the ones you have to watch out for...

I have my rego and wof afixed/ taped discretely under one of my fairing guards where it won't get wet.
They only have to be visible, if they can't find it thats not your prob, though you will have to send a letter in stating that the attendant was blind and that it was clearly displayed as required by law.
Not your fault there a numpties out there.
Parking wardens must love the power and authority they get from their work, must be a bummer they failed the police test lol...

I've got mine mounted on my fairing frame in one of those plastic holders, with the closed side facing up to keep the water out, it's spent plenty of time parked in the rain and still readable.

I don't generally park in town so haven't had to worry about parking nazis, but it's clearly visible if someone takes about .9 of a second to look.

It says that a WoF has to be in a place where it can be readily seen.

Now, it doesn't say seen, it says readily seen. Putting it under the seat doesn't cut it. Make an effort to put it somewhere hard to see and you'll struggle to prove that it was able to be readily seen.

Ironically, it also says that if your vehicle has a windscreen, it has to be attached to the windscreen. No way in the world am I sticking my Wof to my fairing !!

It's always good to read the legislation, it helps before embarking on a crusade if you know what the law actualy sez.

My attitude is that if the system they design is faulty then thats not my problem. So yes before the year is out mine is totaled and the plastic thingy needs biffing. One has to ask why the WOFs cant be generated like road user or licence stickers... problem solved. Its the same antiquated system as when i started riding in the early 80s. The test regime has changed, the cost has gone up and still motorcycles and trailers are plagued with stickers that are rooted before the expiry date.

use to keep mine under the seat was never a problem, now they are both behind number plate cover in dirt but readly seen if you get down on ya nee, but

all ready know if they're out of date before they stop you, as for parking wardens they have to get down on said nee & clean so they can read
