I put a PiperCross filter in my Daytona, had it Tuneboy tweaked to match and yeah, huge difference! Very noticeable, especially in the mid range.
It's only Rock and Roll but I like it

    All depends on the tune,

I had a K&N filter in my 03 Daytona and was mapped to suit my TBR muffler at the time.....since them I have had a much more aggressive tuneboy programe installed(than 86gsxr has) with a pipercross filter to suit my newer TBR muffler and running 42mm pipes compared to the standard 39mm pipes,

Now I have have alot more speed through out lower and middle rangers and 86gsxr knew how quick my bike was before tunboy......

K&N is as they say a lifetime filter as long as you clean them and was around $180 3 years ago when I got mine which I still have, and the pipercross was $170 when I got it this year and needs replacing but compared to the K&N,I feel the pipercross keeps out more dirt from the injectors which I would rather have as with recent leakdown test the % of leakdown from each cyclinder has reduced by 50%

As for economy that depends on how your bike is mapped and how much your twist the grip for your info I run 98 all the time and get the best ks/L compared too what 95 or 91 give

But really its a personal choice for you, what do you want out of your bike ?

Ask for the power tune ! Tell em your racing it and not putting it back on the road !

You can open them air boxes up heaps to let in more air at the velosity stacks, even make your own induction tubes !

How fast do ya wanna go ? If the answer to that is faster than you are now, buy a faster bike rather than sinking $ into a bike thats only ever gonna do 130 HP
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
