Okay, fess up. Who put a liner in their jacket this morning, or in the last week?

I didn't have mine in on the way home last night and I swear to god, my chest has never been so cold.

So, on with the liner this a.m. (god, what a wimp

)

So who's hard enough??

and i rode in jeans this morning - and they're soaked.
now if i could find a way of covering the big sidi logo on the sole of my boots - i wouldn't get busted in business meetings as having motorcycle boots on at work....

Hey Krayy, how cold was it? When I was commuting a couple of winters ago (20k's each way) we had one really cold week. The day time temp never topped 8° and it was -6° in the morning. The ponds I pass on my way in were frozen over. And I work in Marshlands, where the morning temp is always lower then the 'official' temp. Heated grips came in handy that winter

The Inuit say it is not cold until your urine freezes before it hits the ground.

According to the dash on the VifFerraRi this morning at 8:10, it was only 10 degrees, so I didn't have my heated grips on. But I've had my liner and neck warmer thingo in for a couple of weeks now.

So what?

I've had hypothermia before, and I think the combination of that and communtering in D'Auckland traffic would be a very quick way to broken limbs, or worse. So I'm quite happy to enjoy the benefits of my motorcycle gear, and to arrive at work dry, warm and (relatively) happy.

It's a hard road being a tough man, SpankMe.

I wear my summer glubs all year round, if I can. Hate thick gloves under my paws.

But I wore the hated Orina (or is that Urine-a?) 'waterproof' gloves today. Grrrr.

I heard to was pretty warm up there.

Down in the Naki the weather is shyte, but I find it too hot with the liners in my gear. I'm not hard or anything, just don't like to overheat...

I started wearing my neck warmer a couple of months ago, I think without it I tend to get a sore throat easily. And I wear a wool jumper under my jacket rather than the liner (unless it's really cold and I'm going on a long trip). It's easier to get the jacket off with the jumper than with the liner, particularly if I'm a bit sweaty.
My pants haven't got any thermal liner, but it's not too bad since the commute to uni isn't way to long.

No liner in the jacket, but I did have the liners in the trousers!

I can wear casual clothes most of the time to work so I generally wear layers which I can remove at work rather than liners in my gear for commuting.

Looking over the top of the 5 story concrete wall next to my window I can see blue sky now!

I keep both inners in if its not warm, jacket is more cumfy that way too, and i almost never take em out in the pants. Will have some draggin jeans for summer

its not the cold thats bothering me, its the way I have to use different gear each day to let the previous lot dry out! haven't resorted to the glover liners or balaclava yet but the winter gloves are the only waterproof ones I own so will be used almost exclusively for the next 4-5 months I think!
