    BIKER or BIKIE by definition!

I here the term of context used frequently, however there seems to be some confusion around the rationalization of the words.

Here is an easy understanding for those who lack the intuition to decipher...

    Biker:
    1. Rides all the time
2 Rides in rain, storms, sleet, snow, ice, thunder, and anything God throws at them.
    3. Doesn't own or drive a car on a regular basis. Motorcycle is primary mode of transport.
    4. Has a motorcycle that has at least 4 performance or custom modifications.
    5. Showers and bathes as minimally as possible, usually resembles cologne of a urinal or cauliflower.
    5. Wears the same biker clothes every ride, no matter the condition, the rougher the better.
    6. Doesn't ride Japanese or of asian decent motorcycles. aka rice burners. Biker acceptable rides may include: Harley Davidson, Triumph, Norton, Victory, Choppers, and Moto Guzzi.
    7. Identifies themselves with grunts and cavemanistic noises.
    8. Generally speaking, anti social and nocturnal creatures of habbit.

    Bikie:
    1. Everything a Biker is not!

This is the second one, and yes its a bit of salt in the wound....... It is largely based on the historical fact that bikers were birthed out of the era of the 1940's towards the end of the war with the formation of the "Motorcycle Gangs" Bikers were all lumped in the same stereo type, as if you looked like a biker, smelt like a biker, then one must be a biker.
Bikie, per name sake is of european origin, a more cultured name with a similar stereo type but more depictive of racers than Biker Gang origin.
If you called a biker a bikie, one would have received a fist full of knuckles to the chin, cheek or face more than likely. Any line of association was vigorously rebuked.
Doesn't worry me personally, but just stating the obvious really lol....... If one wants to be a biker, just conform, or vicer versa.

Thought bikie was an aussie term. Never heard it used in the US or UK.
