Supposed to be a fairly decent adventure mount. Got that little bit more grunt than a 250. Most were kick start.
    Cheers,

    Amen to that

There is D.P. bikes that have been on t/me for over a year, mostly overpriced. At the end of the day they are a luxury item, not a necesity for most people.
Sorry SheWolf for going off topic........Have you seen the Mondo Enduro dvd ? Round the world, 44000 miles in 440 days on DR350's. I rode one briefly and was happy with it, seemed to have enough power and felt planted, nice and light too

They are a pretty good bike, a bit tall though. Rosie thought about getting one & lowering it when we were shopping for the Sherpa but all the ones we saw for sale at the time were either road legal or electric start, never both.

Rhonda - I had a 1999 DR350X before my current DR650 - this is a kick start only model and is fitted with a 'pumper' as distinct from a Constant Velocity carb.

Great machine - did 10,000 km on mine including riding it home from Taumaranui to the Hutt and many adventure rides including the CCA. Quite a tall machine.

Check out the DR350 thread on ADV Rider - I miss my 350 sometimes - on narrow single track - would like to have kept it - only sold it to gain more carrying capacity for the longer rides like the Dusty Butt and MMMMM.

    Cheers Stephen aka Aslan

Shes all good, precisely why I thought I'd get feedback from you bods....

Mondo Enduro - read the book but haven't found the DVD anywhere yet - there are 5 kiwi buys riding 350s from Russia to London at the moment - they look like a good lil machine

Gotta say i absolutely love dr350's ive owned two of them, great trail steeds and ive thought id like another one as an adventure bike, more comfy in the seat dept than my dr650 too!
about $2000 would be fair for a late 90's or 2000 model with road gear i reckon.
post '97 models are best as the came with cartridge forks.89, 90, and 91 models were
notoriously hard to start but suzuki replied with an uprated ignition, auto decomp setup
and shorter kickstart which cured all the ills and made them super easy to start .......
even by hand!!! so kickstart shouldnt put you off

I have communicated with the guy and he is open to an offer. If you're interested make him an offer. "No" doesn't hurt.

    Cheers

oooooo hmmmmm and other excitipated noises. Must go and try it on. Kick start would be a good fall back in the back of beyond, and something about the simplicity of them really appeals.
