Go on! you know you want too!

Peeteey down here has recently brought a dr350 & hes very happy with it.
Its taller than my lowered dr650 but still an OK height for me(Im just under 5'7'')

When I was umm...way younger I had a Honda xl500, a kick start awesome bike that I quickly mastered and I can start my sons xr650 sometimes.....

I had a ride on a DR350 today and i was very impressed, it had a seat like a 525ktm so it was a tad taller the my XR6 and of course it was down on power compared to the XR but sh#t i absolutely loved it what a fantastic bike. the kick start was ssoooooooo easy to kick over and the handling was great, it soaked up the bumps and humps and handled the loose stuff with ease, cheap as chips to run, if i wasnt into the grunt of the XR6 i'd pick one of these up and tour the country no worries.

I had one (1991 model I think, or was it '93). Great offroad, but it never liked the constant throttle road stuff. Shit of a thing to start if stalled when hot. It might have just been that particular bike. I couldn't wait to get rid of it.

The DRZ400 I bought after it was a much better bike, but perhaps not for long distance adv riding.

Being a short bugger, I couldn't touch the ground on either (still can't on my DR650).

@ Shewolf...... If I had to replace the Big and I wanted a small trailie type bike that can do long distance then I would buy a dr350 in a heartbeat.
MrsJatz's one is quite tall but it's not an issue for us, aftermarket tank gives about 250-300 k's range and it's farkin fun on gravel roads . The carb issue is just one of those bad luck things that seem to happen to me
    Just my humble opinion....

To old and over priced it still requires rego & warrant .
Find a road legal Yamaha WR250F would be better

What a surprize its still forsale ! !

To much money for a 9year old trail bike...Im guessing to sell my Kawasaki 2008 KLX450R atm It would be a hard sell at $4500...Maybe even less ? ?

As a adv bike a WR250F would be pretty expensive to run and uncomfortable. A WR250R would be a much better option if you have the cash.

Yer but can you rego a KLX450R - I think not. The purpose of the bike is adv riding.

Crazy Steve needs to change his tagline to 'needs to take his meds today'

Anyway, Shewolf, I spotted a AX-1 in Welly today with spoke wheels on it. I didn't get a chance to see what rim sizes they were but obviously either they came out with other options or it's possibly to replace the cast ones with spoke wheels ,hopefuly giving more standard knobbly tyre size options.

Jeez Bro - What's with that? Calm down. Now give us some more info on what you had to do to the KLX450 in regards to switch gear and indicators and whatever else to get it rego'd. I would like to know and I'm sure alot of others would also.

yeah...I'm also looking out for a 17" rim from an XL or XR (?) be the most sensible option to swap it out
