Well I for one was a bit... reserved about joining the KB forum, because of my sexuality, and the stereotype I had about bikers and thier attitudes towards GLBT people... but I ended up joining anyway because my fascination with bikes is a lot bigger than my fear of abuse and rejection by narrow minded people...

My partner (Sam) and I considered joining a group like Dykes on Bikes and other affiliated groups, but decided not to restrict ourselves to one type of group, and of all the people I've chatted to from KB, are all a decent bunch that are very openminded and humourous

There's a bit of stick (no pun intended...I think) on here at times, but out on the road is where it counts, and these people will give you their shirt if need be.

Hey but without intending to upset people or cause a ruckus... Purely as an observation on human nature..

Isn't it interesting how we can feel free to poke the borax at a large dude but other 'different' people are acceptable or off limits? I bet he would find some of the comments made about him just as hurtful as someone else would find comments about their gender orientation??

We are a funny old species aint we...

Hmmm - I wonder if it has anything to do with choices. What I mean is, a gay Ozzie is one thing, in that he was born gay and Ozzie, but a fat gay Ozzie, would he be fair game simply because he'd just eaten too many pies? Mince pies of course.

I went to high school with someone like that. The poor guy was very slight and effeminate, and being a boy's school, he was subject to a lot of harrassment.

I saw him again a year or two after I finished high school, dressed as a woman (he may have had a sex change by then, for all I know). He looked much better as a girl than a guy, and seemed more comfortable too.
