Newbie looking for advice: CBR250 RR 1990

    Hey guys and gals,

I'm very keen on buying this bike http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=302362546, ive taken it for a tet drive it it goes pretty good and comsetically its in very good nick. I was just wondering what you guys thought about the price, made him an offer of 3750 but he hardly budged and sed 4K was the lowest he could go. Let me know what you guys think, any help would be apprecieated.

    thanks

this bike has been on trademe for a while hasnt it? maybe the dude has dropped the price i guess, since the 8th of july i mean. id be interested to know if the fairings have been damaged or replaced. i doubt anyone would want to paint a cbr a ford falcon colour...

have you checked the plate on carjam? checking the k's is important on these popular bikes.

have you thought about getting a pre purchase check at a mechanic or something? (maybe you are mechanically minded though)

good luck with the search, just compare what 4k will get you in the 250cc wellington area.

always makes me smile how people think their particular version of a vehicle is faster than others of the same type

as if some mystical enginework has been done to it by crazy japanese tuners to make it faster without any visible difference

Well if you want it ... what's 3750 compared to 4000? Just go for the 4k.

Get a mechanical check or risk your 4K.

My partner and l just brought 1 of trade me about a month ago and only paid $2600.00 for it and it was in reasonable condition. We are also buying a 1992 1 for the same price $2600.00 which we are picking up on Saturday so in my opinion l think he is asking too much for it but this is just my opinion and at the end of the day it comes down to your opinion and your choice if you go ahead with it.

Paid $5k private for my young fellas 94 CBR250RR so the price sounds about right. They are a freakin rocket for what they are too. Admitted his is a baby blade but they are pretty reliable and a hoot to ride.
