    Recommended rides

Post a google maps route of recommended rides.
AUCKLAND - Maraetai -> Orere Point -> Hunua -> Papakura
    http://tinyurl.com/26tqroo
Did this on sunday with Grasshopperus, plenty of twisties, handful of straights, very little traffic once we were past Clevedon.
Things to be watch for: some of the roads through the hills had moss in the centre, which will be very slippery in the wet. Road works heading through hunua at a few points as well.

    My little route:
    AUCKLAND - Auckland -> Silverdale
    http://tinyurl.com/25cqq4v
When I feel like going for a quick ride.
Things to watch for: the first section of ridge road is dodgy as hell, unlined, narrow blind corners, had a couple of cars scare the crap out of me on this part. the remainder is quite nice, lots of driveways though, not too busy traffic wise. There's one corner approaching the end which tightens to be a bit tighter than it seems/you think it's going to be.
I usually just head back the same way.

(Sorry if this is a dupe, couldn't find the existing one.)

Mmm. must try this "Ridge Rd" you speak of, perhaps on the way home if the weather holds

Did it in the dusky light last night at a slow careful place. Dang, she's a nice bit-a-road.

Mate suggested we go for a lunch ride today before the bad weather, went half way up then back down again. Slow pace for me as mates just got his Tenere and is new to big bikes, but a few fun squirts for sure!

Looks like a good ride there Wanpo. Let's sort something out for next weekend eh?

Maybe extend your short circuit to look something like this?

    Ridge wreck

Better name for this stretch of rd especially on sundays apart from blind cnrs T sections umpteen driveways with mum backing overly large suvs out for church theres my favourite of favs push bikes a plenty goddamned mobile chicanes with cloth ears if u ask me been trapped behind them a plenty good rd to avoid but excellent training for red mist control if u use it

    Anything out of Auckland.

    Head south.

Stratford - Whangamomona is my fav. Not a bad little pub for a feed and to wash the bugs down afterward out there too.... or stay the night if you tried too many washes....
