its annoying when playing with boy racers on the motorways.

    Try changing out of 1st.....
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Shouldn't need to with a boyracer

Worse still it's crapola. The speed limiter on these things is, from memory, set to something like 180kmh. Call me old fashioned, but that shouldn't be too much of a hindrance for a weekend's riding. It's an old bike too, so why would anybody be wanting to wind its ring off?

If you want to go faster than 180kmh, then buy something else.

Over-riding the speed limiter is simple. You just need to cut a wire.
    Which one, tho?

Wind its ring off!? A cbr1000 could cruise at that speed all day at very moderate rpm im sure. I used to hit the speed limiter on my cbr250rr, 17000rpm, now that was winding its ring off. Then i bought a older cbr250r, full 45hp and no limiter, could get it well off the clock, 195kmh ish, into the redline, but I soon got myself a cbr600 without a limiter and now will happily smoke those pesky boyracers all the way to 260kmh easy. Id imagine having a cbr1000 limited to 180kmh must be like having a girlfriend with a penis, frustrating, as it would hit that speed in no time. Im sure a lot of bike buyers have been caught out buying big bikes only to find its limited, pays to check things like that before buying.

You think they should keep it minty for a special occasion or something? Cause it's collectible or some shit? Really? No, didn't think so.

If it's the same as the 400's (cbr400, vfr400 and a vfr 750...all the same...) of the era it's pretty easy....you just have to cut and join a couple of the wires. I'll come back when I can find which 2 they were....
