Yes.....it is the red and white already to.
well if it was red/white from factory, Id say thats even more reason to take her back to close to original. you may prefer differently, however Im of the opinion that manufacturers take their spotsbikes and produce naked version anyway, which are a better base for a streetfighter, than an originally fully faired bike. just my opinion, but Id definitely 'invest' in doing her up to her former glory

Hey, I had to know if the design would work before comissioning a finished one! (btw, it didn't, but I know a lot more about resonance than I did). The final product is seamless and gorgeous Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that most street fighters looked like bikes that've crashed.

What a spiteful sarcastic spiel. Usually I'd agree with what this chap has to say.
I see no reason to change that position.

A mate was going to go that route & has the crashed R1 in the garage collecting bits (project going 4 years now). Even he has decided Streetfighters are soo last century & is putting it back to stock. Investigate race fibreglass as a stopgap, at least in a simple white it won't look tragic & will still be a useable bike that isn't off the road for ages.

    Projects take years, trust me.

dont street fighter it, but take the opportunity to make the bike into exactly what you want.

i like the idea of doing something similar to my R6 this summer, I want all my friends to make some sort of contribution (that preferably aren't penises) no matter how small.

Yeah, that looks kinda cool. You & yer mates should be able to knock something up to look like that after a couple of beers, should look just as good.

That MotoGP lark - they aren't so fast. I reckon I could 'ave em.

It's your bike, you can do what the hell you like.

Stick a blower and some proper nitro in it if you like.

i think it would look good with the belly pan left on, speed triple twin head lights, Buell X1 small fairing, Renthal or similar bars, custom paint....etc

Not sure how it would affect the steering geometry and whether I would have to cert it. Any clues?
Just buy my 2001 R1 Streetfighter instead and save yourself some money
