    The $25,000 CB750

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-414762474.htm

I love this and would own it in a heartbeat, but I think if you are the guy buying for investment, you want one bone stock, not improved. Having ridden a bunch of them, the stuff he has done is all sensible, but again, its "not stock" so collector value = zero. So your market is a rider: and they may as well buy one of the other tidy ones that come up periodically for like, $10k, and have $15k in the bank for road trips, blow and hookers.

    but it sure is pretty.

There is a bike mechanic in Kingsland that has a K0 that you could buy for 1/4 of that

Had the idea myself,of taking traditional looking, mid range IL4s and upspecing them to market them to returning riders. There seems to be a gap in the market. The GS1400 and Yamahas 1300 both look good but are to heavy and to powerful for aging bones and slowing reflexs. But costs seem prohibitive, anyone with that sort of money would be looking to buy new or an origional classic.

You can't call it a classic CB750 unless it has the red and gold tank. And they need to be restored with the same shit tyres and fish oil in the forks they came with standard. At least Dunlop developed special tyres for the Trident (TT100),but Honda sent these things out with tyres that were dangerous on a 250,on a 750 with over 70hp they were more than dangerous....and so we got the learner system with a 250 limit.

I had a red/gold tank CB750 - it is the only inline 4 cyl motorcycle I've owned, and inspired me to never own one again.

    Ahh 20/20 hindsight aye.

I hate you all for reminding me that selling my '70 in '93 for $1100 and an oz probably wasn't the best idea given what it would be worth now.

Funny thing is almost 20 years on you still pay about the same for the oz!

WTF is with these asking prices? Pretty sure the CR125 is a typo, but the above seems steep? You'd know better than me Pete....

    Compare this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1974-...item3a6a1ee7b7
