If I had money, I'd buy the RZ in a heartbeat.
The one I had seized and it cost the new owner a lot to fix it...
Sounded awesome though... Ah the memories...
Maybe one day...

Divide the PS figure by 1.01387 to get the HP figure ( PS or the full german word perv@#% means Horsepower (basically metric HP) & HP (Horsepower) is the imperial measurement).
Here's a good wee read on the RZV

Pretty good guess then
Somwhere I have the tuning blueprints that Yamaha gave to their dealers who were racing it. You could apply it to an RZV too![]()
Another one the same http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-318151124.htm
A mate has one in his Lounge, FZR400 USD front, Nikon pipes, Marchini wheels, Aprilia fairing, braced frame, RGV swingarm & suspension linkage. He just needs to get is a bit closer to finished & then I make my move with some cash.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
Even for a friday afternoon I find that somehow deeply disturbing.![]()

Have a photo at home of 4 RZ or RZV500's all running at the same time on the drive. All were owned by my father, my brother or myself at the same time.
The RZ was essentially an okay bike but not really what it was "sold as" being a racer for the road. I back to backed mine at Puke during a ride day with a real GP bike and ithe RZ was a lardy squishy sofa in comparison. Coming into the hairpin I was concerned about how quick I was changing down, unlike the TZ.... RZ and close ratio box, not really.....
I rode a mates RG500 at one point and didn't like the handling. The RG's had little rims, even smaller than the RZ's for some reason. They never did anything for me at all and I'm a commited stroker fan having only bought my first 4 stroke road bike above 100cc last year (held a licence for 28....).
16 inch front was a pain. One recommendation was to run a 110/90x16 front for a bit taller, bit narrower to reduce the 16 inch front wheel effect.
Brakes were crap because of the anti dive. Difference between the RZ and RZV was jetting ign box and pipes. But I suspect the ign boxes were pretty similar and it was Pipes more than anything.
I sold my father's new in NZ 500 with <5000km 3 years ago for less than the buy now. That one is probably quite a tidy bike, but a bit more than I personally would be wanting to pay. I hope someone buys and loves it though.
