Oops sorry, Friday afternoon itis! I was riding in the lane. She pulled out from other side of the road turning the same way I was riding and pulled onto the flush median, I hit the horn which kept her on the median or she would have pulled into the lane... and onto me.

Hmmm, I am looking at a Nautilus horn after a few scares recently involving prats driving on the wrong side of the road.....

Do the Nautilus horns need a mounting bracket made up to fit them, and does it take long to install the relay etc?

Mounting the horn isn't that hard, it just needs to be firmly held in place wherever it fits OK. The relay is small and light and is easily hooked up. It isn't quite as easy as just plugging it in - it isn't a standard device for the bike, but it isn't really all that much work to get the sucker mounted somewhere.

The Nautilus is pretty effective, it's really hard for someone not to notice it. My factory horn could be ignored, but that never seems to happen with the Nautilus.

Just fitted a Stebel Magnum. Straight swap on my OEM bracket, same for wiring. Whole job took less than ten minutes. Not as loud as the Nautilus but WAY louder than pathetic beep from the Triumph unit.
Great service from Fastbike Gear too, ordered over the net at 3:00pm thursday and on my desk by 8:30am Friday, can't ask for better than that. Great stuff.

No replacement parts or brackets needed, just affixed it straight onto an existing bracket on my 07 Speed Triple by the water pump feed.
I started up the bike, and tested the horn............ music to my sweet, now deaf little ears lol.......

WARNING, open the garage door first lol.

1000 times better than my existing stock bleeper, no turning back... I do query though how much louder the nautilus is as it's supposed to be even louder still...

Highly recommend getting one of these, the sound is awesome and loud.
    STUPID QUESTION but:

Does this horn simply replace the existing one or do you need to wire an amplifier to a new fuse etc?

From what I understand, the Magnum horns just replace the old ones and fit straight onto the old mounting bracket etc, but the Nautilus ones need to be hooked up to the battery via a relay and are slightly larger so need to be fit via another mounting bracket.

I don't have one yet so I could be wrong, however I am keen to get one... 139db will make people think twice about potentially putting me in danger with their driving

It does fit straight on easy, Mine didn't fit the existing mount bracket, though I just fastened it to where the cooler hose attaches to the engine. Took all of 5 minutes. A relay will increase the output as well, though the sound is fine without one. It's awesome.

I'm not sure why but on my bikes I had to install a relay with my magnum; it's not a very hard job though.

I definitely can't compare it to my stock horn, it's rediculous: I can't even imagine a nautilus.

Got mine through fastbikegear for a great price and on my door 24hours after ordering

Just ordered one from fastbikegear too!

At $36, they're a real bargain. I understand they're now an end of line product as the new model has better waterproofing.

Funny thing is that they're listing them on Trademe and selling for more than than their $36 website price.

    Perceived bargains can be expensive!

    Nautilus over Stebel Magnum.

Both horns have their benifits. I am told the nautilus is the louder, and it is definately so. However I appreciated the smaller size of the magnum and the easier fitting.
My magnum like others fitted strait on to existing mounts and wiring. Though I opted to relocate its position to simply putting it onto another bolt off the water pump housing.
It's way loud and if I put a relay on it would be louder still. Happy as it is though, it gets me attention like a regimental army attn. Boooraaaagh!

Amazing! It's not like they're keeping their website a secret.

Has anyone installed Stebel Magnum (or anyother aftermarket horn for that matter) on a 2007 + CBR600RR? just wondering about ease of installation.

If you can access the existing horn bracket, then it's easy on any bike at all.
