Stuck handlebar grips

OK very silly question but the previous owner seemed to have super glued the grip onto the throttle Now I am trying to replace the grips but I have huge chunks of grip stuck to the plastic throttle cover.....any idea's?

Hair dryer to heat it up was ok but not a great result (yes girl way of fixing a problem). Would heat gun be ok?

Any easier ways would be great.

you may have to whittle the bits off then sand the remaining rough spots.

We've had to whittle the old one off of my rm before with a craft knife, took ages to do it nicely. New throttle tubes are cheap if you just wanna replace it

Wire wheel on an angle grinder.

Its not as butcherous as it first sounds as you can get pretty good feel and control

Try a bit of crc or wd40 sprayed in the gap using the red tube attachment and just keep working the grip.
Even better, if you have access to a compressor,point a blower nozzle into the gap and give it a blast or three, I've had glued grips off in under a minute using this method.

I'm a fan of the WD40 method too. sounds like you've cut yours off already and are dealing with the dead parts still attached? wire wheel on dremel (be careful with it though) or try some D Solv It.

Kawasaki uses the best bond over to glue there throttle tubes on in many years of trying i have never got one off in one peice, either cut the big stuff off, and wire wheel the rest off,

or buy a aftermarket throttle tube, which are about $20

Thanks Scott - must be the original by the sounds of it. Will see about getting a wire brush to it but might just be easier to by new throttle tube (what recession - my bike hasn't heard that we are in one).
