New M5 Metzy & a trip to Whanga pub

Have moved into the 2010 after using the M1 Metzy fronts for the last 10ys as they suited my RSVR's setup & what I expect from my tyres in feed back & grip . I put the new M5 Interact on the front & went out today to the Whanga Pub for a burger & bourbon & to scrub the new trye in , not that it felt like you needed to . Had to keep reminding myself that it was brand new & had only had a sandpapering before heading out but Man these things have excellent grip & feed back right from new . Turn in is very predicable & stable while rolling over on it side even under braking up hill or down , by the time I had made it to the pub it had bugger all Bird flu strips left on it for 90ks most impressed . If these came 2nd to the Corsa Rosso then the Rosso must be Unreal !!! Can't wait till the M3 rear is ready to change so I can replace it with the M5 & all should be beautiful with the world of cornering . The Burger was bloody massive !!!! no chips needed only just made my way through it as did Dazza when he arrived about 10min after I had got there . A bourbon or 2 later & a talk to afew other Italian riders out there a guy turns up on a nice ZXR1200 with some very nice Ohlins shocks & other bling on it , chatted abit more then geared up for our trip home , the guy on the ZXR12 said he would ride out with me & Dazza so off we went with me leading for about half way out still getting use to the new M5 front . Then the ZXR12 dude came past & opened up his bike & started to pick the pace up alot , wasn't in the mood to chase with the new front so watched him power off at speed which made him cut corners into the other lane , me & Dazza came into a area clearly maked with gravel & yes you can guess what we found the ZXR12 upside down in the water table with the guy picking himself up . Changed down on my Mille & had the back wheel slid out abit so there was more than enough gravel to course a crash . The rider had ridden along the whiteline which was covered in loose metal & along with the speed he would have entred the corner the rest was History . Bike was bloody muntered & the rider very embarrased as well as pretty sore , wheeled the bike down the road once we picked it back up & then watched as it fell over again when it rolled forward on the loose road side bugger . Got it going after abit of turning over & off he road to the nearest house to call the wifey , I surppose a harsh lesson learnt to pay more attention to signage & ride abit slower , at least he got to take his own boots off even if they where struffed up abit . Have just been informed that a biker has lost his life on the road we use to get to & from Whanga today , hence the reason why it was closed off when we came home. Condolences to family & friends . Some pics of the Italian beauties to try to end on a postive note
