Can't you buy a road legal kitset with everything you need? I think I've seen one on a CRF230
really... Please someone tell me where to get one!
Cheers.

You could ask Honda if one is available,or if the road kit from another model can be used.Otherwise you have to make your own up from bits - indicators, number plate holder, reflector, switches, speedo if yours doesn't come with one, most off roaders seem to come with head and tail lamp, but need to source if not.Everything will have to comply with standards of course - then it's down to the VIN....and they may say you have just wasted your time - so a word in their ear first would be a starting point.

In a previous issue of the Honda Riders Club magazine there's a writeup someone did about getting a CRF230 road legal.
For the CRF230 they needed to get it checked by a low volume vehicle certifier, as the bike is not tested for NZ. ($450+gst+paperwork.)
PM me if you'd like a copy of the article.

Go see about getting a vin first as if you cant get one of these there is no point continuing trying to get the bike on the road.
For some reason I wasn't allowed to put my xr250 on the road as the frame number was not in their system
Cheers guys.![]()

CRF450R lacks lighting coil and battery needed to run lights and indicators. You may be able to road-ify the CRF450X. But best bet would just be to buy a KTM-EXC these are road legal and come eith indicators etc.
