Pot. Kettle. Read your first post again, seems to me all you wanted was a reaction, and that's what you got.

I was quite charged and enthusiastic about my day. Not so much what you stated, more adjoining those who appreciate such experiences.
It is sad though that people have to rain on the parade, however one must respect that there are all sorts in this world.
I use the forum to express myself, I don't really care to much what others think, though I do appreciate comradery and sharing stories.

I was expecting some noobs, as they troll for that very purpose.

So where can one legally learn to wheelie? A private carpark with owner's permission or other private land (eg. farm)?

It's a pity we have 7 day a week shopping. I remember my dad and I taking the go kart down to Riccarton mall on a Sunday for some practice. Lovely big carpark it was (pre the mall extensions they made about 15 years ago).

I use private land to practice. I used to have a customer with a private runway 250m long which was handy, sadly I lost contact and he moved.
I practice on some rural driveways, but they are not that long. Some dairy farmers have nice firm lime runoff tracks, I have had fun on those in summer.
Carparks have there legality issues, so to does any other workplace if their is an accident.
I think I play it safe and use mostly places where I have asked. Most are accommodating as long as you aren't doing damage or being a nuisance. Just ask around when you see a place that looks good.
There was a huge factory where silvia park is now where we used to go on weekends for playing. It was at least 300m long and heaps of room. Must be some of those around still. (Obviously not at Sylvia Park but lol)

Compared to statements made by previous to mine, this is superficial and not out of the constitution. Find a rock, try hiding under it.

Hell i know a guy that isl able to indicate, and steer through traffic while wheelieing. he has crashed MANY times, but not one was because of a wheelie.

people like you that post like that in every thread about anything fun are why KB is so full of limp wristed poofs now.
Keep it up! There is nothing more satisfying than having to put the wheel down because the oil light has come on!

starting off from traffic lights is the good place to practice, that or 3rd gear on the motorway, less throttle controll is needed in the higher gears.
Allways cover your rear break, slam that if it goes pear shaped and 999/999.1 times you will be sweet, even when you accidentally wheelie into unmarked roadworks at 80MPH

Bwa ha ha ha! Too true....I remember the good old days.....
I even remember when one could do the odd wheelie or two without getting stick from everyone.

It's called control and involves the ability to read the road, your bike and the way it's acting. I've had wind catch me, the back go into a weave, the front crossed up, and I've always brought it down safely.

I don't do wheelie to impress others, I do them (when the time is right) because they feel great. I love being in communication with my bike, I like them to be 'talking' to me, moving around under me, giving me lots of feedback. I get that on the back wheel, the concentration required is another step up, the feedback becomes almost part of you. It's not for everyone, and not everyone does them for the same reasons. But if you are in control and acting with your brain and not your ego a wheelie need be no more dangerous than any other factor of motorcycle riding.
Exactly... It took me a couple of years to do a decent wheelie but I never tried to 12 o clock it straight away, started small and learnt the bike and what it could do and just practise and before you know it you'll be passing people on the back straight at Taupo on the back wheel standing up at 200kph... Sigh unfortunately that freedom has been taken away at track days..................

Bigger balls?? oh yeah to grip the tank with... Awesome skills tho with a 1/4 less limbs than the rest of us

Did anyone read the 3rd post?
''quick power blip on the driveway after work''

It was probably unintentional and scored 2/10
