    Auxiliary lighting?

    Hey guys

Was wondering what sort of auxilary ridng lights you enduro guys and girls use on your bikes? The headlight on the drz is equivalent to me duct taping a candle to the front of the bikes. Im hoping to get a halogen bulb for it and some bike vis bullets for increased visibilty but the problem of being able to see well at night woouldnt be solved.

Anybody here using a handlebar mounted spot preferably running off a seperate circuit and switchblock?

Trailtech does the scmr16 HID but HID's are illegal on bikes in nz, or so I have been told. ANybody know of a decent halogen equivalent. Im thinking 150watt halogen running of a seperate relay and circuit so as not to fry my bike. The HID option would be nice, anybody using one of those?

    Cheers guys n girls.

HID cannot be retro fitted to a housing not originally designed for it. The illegal part.

Hella also make a nice driving lamp, with a good beam. Ultimately, make sure it doesn't overload the bikes electrical system.

There is some really cool dig parts on www.dealextreme.com if you want to diy it. There is a new sealed 750lm sealed 12v light that would only draw 1 amp. Get 4 of those!!!

Thanks cheese. Ill take a look, I've never really worked with bike electrics so am learning as I go.

This is the light that I was looking at. Just one, mounted on the left side of my renthals (clutch side) as thats the only place that has space.

The problem is there just arent any in nz to take a look at. Would have to parallel import one.

Well if you are creative used this

    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.44176

If you want a handlebar mount kit (but its twice the price) use this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149

They both use the same LED, so should be mint! Just wire them up to the high beam.

They are a bit spot lightish, so I'd get a few and you should away!

BTW all those are free shipping from that website and in USD.
