need I say more? its 10 days away, and i am just trying to sort out what i am doing, I def want to go, have been offered a room in central Taupo etc but my Funds may not allow it, but I do have free access to a Holiday Home 1 hour South, but my ride up there is staying in above Central Location in Taupo....
So whats everybody else doing? we will be up there Mid Afternoon Friday
I think at this point me and the boyfriend are looking to come down. Not sure on accommodation yet as still seeing who else is coming (one has family there).
Will be down Friday night.
I will be the one that is slowing the boyfriend down - easy enough to pick!
Thanks for posting this up otherwise I might have missed it. How does this ride compare with the Trail Blazer 2 day Epic Events did a month ago? I thought that was a VERY well organised / groomed ride.
i did pumice blast last year and from what i can remember, it was mainly just pumice roads with a couple of bush sections. trail blazer is definitely the best epic events ride,
SHE LOOKED UP AT ME WITH BLOOD IN HER EYES
THEN HER SKIN FELL OFF
AND SHE PROMPTLY DIED
IT WAS EBOLA, LA LA LA EBOLA
Looking at heading down on friday,Got 2 & 4 wheels now so can do some laps on each, will have some room on trailer if anyone need a bike taken down, should be a good weekend, come & say hi ya cant miss me a BIGG BLACK F250 Truck & Rather large Trailer as well.
I assume most people are still driving home but would like to hear how the ride went etc.
Saturday was great. Did the 50km loop and it was flowing but still bit greasy in spots but made for more fun.
Today was mud, mud and oh yeah mud! They had a smaller 35km loop open today but it was carnage (for me at least) as it got a bit of a hammering on the last 10km as it linked in with the end of the 50km loop that was open both days.
Was a great event and had a bit of everything with some hills and good declines but then some messy bogs that tried to swallow anything that went near them.
Will do more of the Epic events as really well run and clearly marked tracks
