I don't think there is a phone number, it's the PPSR website or similar. And if it's owned by me, there'll be a shitload owing on it so don't bother

The problem you can have with this is that a crafty seller will fork out the $16 for a new set of plates, attach to the car and sometimes it can take weeks for the info to become public. Far better to track moneys owed by the VIN number of a vehicle.
