What's the plan at this stage? Continue to Welly and spend the night, then return tomorrow or Sunday?

har har, how little you know. I would be very surprised if he stays somewhere. He'll keep riding while there are roads and gas in the tank. When the gas runs out, he'll push until he finds more.

If conditions are that bad, surely he'd decide descretion is better than valour...

    Cripes, what a strange idea.

Our mechanised marauder will continue with his plan, which in fact was to buy a pie in raetihi.

Now, knowing that the pie shop would be closed by the time he got there, he figured that he might as well head to Wellington for dinner, because by the time he got there, scoffed and took pics, the pie shop in raetihi would most likely be open on the return trip.

Word is, our camouflaged comrade rolled into wellywood at 2:15am safe and sound.

Unable to confirm at this time, the status of any burgers that may have been scoffed. Strongly suspect however, several pies may have been slaughtered en route.

    Disturbing news.

I am informed by the rampant rider, that there was an incident on the journey.

He is ok, bike is ok, and they are fueling up in Taihape.

More details in the next bulletin!

Right - at time of typing, our excellent explorer is departing Ohakune.

At least the weather gods have cleared a path for him back home this morning!
