So its ok to do 120kph in the last 250 mters of a passing lane, lets face it, how often do you have to crank it up over the speed limit on a passing lane?
Does not apply to mobile units though, I got a ticket for 112kph at the end of a passing lane. Spped kills dont forget

I always understood that the 200m thing was originally meant to ensure that mobile speed cameras were not pointing in to a lower speed zone and thus pinging people who weren’t speeding. This eventually led to the 200m limit for all enforcement – it means there is no argument as to which side of the sign you were on, and compensated for the fact that many signs are not at their legally defined position. The downside of this was that some of TPTB started moving the speed limit signs 200m to compensate, which leads to a lack of compliance. But, as Bandit says, the speed limit is where the speed limit signs are (assuming all the legalities are kosher) so you can get nicked 5m from it.

Sorry that you see it that way . I may have portrayed in some of my posts that it seemed I was saying it was unfair. (Out of anger and frustration). But i accept that i was in the wrong.
And I should have had L plates.
And saw the 60 sign at the time .
Luck of the draw really that I just happened to meet a cop that didn't like me too much.

But once again I initially was just looking for somebody who had heard or knows about the same situation with the two infringements for the same thing. And thanks now to some of the posts here, I have some good answers.

And from what I remember yeah that 200m thing was related to mobile cameras. Not police cars. Quite often I've seen them sitting almost right next to a 50 sign. (Prime example coming out of Taumaranui during the winter season).

Unfortunately you may have to bite the bullet on this one and put it down to experience .

Iv`e bitten the bullet more than once in the last year and the experience cost me $690 (totally my fault)but cheaper than a weekend in Queenstown.

Maybe question the 2 speeding tickets though. Best of luck with that.

I don't go through spagetti junction unless I absolutely have to, what a fuck-up of a place, and the cops haunt it like vultures looking for the guy using common sense instead of the idiocy the roading planners have inflicted on the hapless user. and it's dangerous!

    Correct. It is double dipping.

In the end adding a total of $430 for going 87 on the motorway...
Just wondering if there's anyone out there that's able to let me know if he is able to fine me the $100 for exceeding the Learner speed, as well as this $230 one?
If there's any past experiences or know of any of these situations? and is able to help me it would be a HUGE help! Cheers
He can. It is a learner breach, seperate from the speeding ticket.....

What it isn't, is exceeding 70kmph and ticketing you for that.... which has happened on occasions on here... Nothing to lose and plenty to gain by writing in about it all though.

And get the restricted, you lazy prick. "A year and a half".... pfft.

As for demerits, you only get pinged for the heaviest demerit in the one stop. IE: 35 demerits for speed, 35 demerits ofr learner plate and 35 demerits for learner exceeding 70 in the one stop ticket = 35 demerits.

You should get a discount because its a temporary speed limit... and can't get 2 tickets for same thing. Exceptions is truck driver allowed no seatbelt if making frequent stops in 50k zone, if you are speeding then there is no dispensation for the belt as you were doing more than 50.

Pissed me off other night, lady gets pulled up for running red light, breath tested, pass. 'ok don't do it again, have a good night'
I'm like FFS if she was 10 years younger and male she'd have been given a ticket, a rant about how shes not even a good driver, imparment tested and searched. Basically teated like a criminal.

Sorry if posted already just no effort to read all posts, u know how it is.

    .
You at least read posts 55 and 56....???

    Sigh....

Its a speed limit. Discount? Pfft...

And it isn't two tickets for the same thing.... still.....

And truck drivers don't get exemptions for frequent stops. Only Couriers, mechanics test driving a car, cops and taxi drivers do.
