    Fathers Day rides

With no rain and a leave pass for a couple of hours my neighbour on his borrowed SV650 and I went for a blat out to Muriwai via Taupaki, Kumeu and Trig Rd. A few bikes out and a very pleasent ride.

Perhaps summer is actually on the horizon............. What a greatway to spend a day (or part thereof).

So where did you go today?

not a father as such..but I do command a one parent home...

I went up to the top of the Takaka Hill, my little playground....the view....breathtaking no matter what the weather.

Nice to see you got out to play....Happy Fathers Day.

    <----- Jealous.

Got a morning sleep in (10 am woop!) , then out to brunch with my wife and my girls. Was going to slink away for a few hours but one of the girls got short of breath and Mum had to take her to A&E (Asthma/Ear Infection). So I had to sit at home and drink beer/watch motorsport while the youngest had her afternoon nap...... not too bad I spose.

Slept in late, woke to sounds and smells of cooking in kitchen, and had Eggs Bendict brought to me for breakfast in bed.

Rode with the Tauranga Ulysees Club later in the morning up to Whangamata for fish and chips for lunch, over the hill to Kopu, and home via Paeroa and the Karangahake Gorge.

Some lovely winding roads, and though I wasn't as fast through them as my fellow riders and fell behind, I had a fantastic time and they waited for me every so often.

What a day, added 350 km to the 7000 I had clocked up as of first thing this morning!!!!!!

Today, I mostly went from Devonport to Takapuna to get fuel for this weekly commute. Good relaxing ride, saw a few bikers out too.

On Saturday, I saw about 4-5 cafe racers though! Was nice seeing them :P

Got a couple extra hrs in bed and woken with poached eggs on toast made by the kids (under supervision from the wife). She had to work today so got to have the children to myself so sorted them out with their bikes and gum boots and spent some quality time in the man cave fettling the R1 for the coming season. TT racing on Sky tonight so a few beers and watching some of the best racing on the planet...................an awesome day.

I was allowed out to wash my bike then my daughters car. Did some gardening then took wifee and kids out to buy them coffee and cake and school shoes. I didn't get to ride at all. My 13yr old son made me omlete for breky before he took off to his friends for the day. Got the usual port and cashews etc so we'll all have them. But me lovely 17 yr old daughter (who's watching me type this) got me a Queen CD and a Queen DVD... so I'll keep her on! Beats workin...

Went for a blast out to Castlepoint (the takas was going to be gale force winds).
Cool ride, DRY road, but just getting into Castlepoint it was super windy...real sketchy!!
Hope the group I saw going out there on the way back made it ok...especially the rider with the high rise bars.
This sign was a crack up though...
    Let the good times roll

Phone call from daughter. Text from son.

BUT. Rode out to Raglan for a coffee at Blacksands. I do like that road.

It's tempting to go out for a ride, but I just don't want to be on the roads when another quake strikes.

    Cool

Got a bottle of JD from my oldest and did a Napier - Rotorua - Auckland - Puhoi - Henderson - Tauranga - Whakatane - Gisborne - Napier ride. And no, have not opened the bottle yet. But tempting...

May the bridges I burn light the way.
