Fuel consumption of your bike is...

Just checked my bank account re how much I spent on fuel on my trip this w/e. I went up to Auckland and then back the long way. My trip meter told me I did 1,485 k's. I spent $127 at petrol stations. There was two cans of V and a chocolate bar or two in that, but rest was High Octane. That makes it about 70 litres for the almost 1,500k's. I did ride the K1 that is a 1000cc 4 cyl bike with fuel injection. I also very seldom, on the open road, travelled under 120k/h. Often faster. That means I managed over 21k's per litre, or about 4.5 litres per 100k's. Not bad!

    What does your bike use?

May the bridges I burn light the way.

completely variable, mood, terrain, throttle (ab)use, time of day, temperature, conditions.

Anywhere from low 5 to hovering around 7 is completely usual.

That seriously stretched my morning brain capacity to calculate. But the SV does a consistent 6.5 Km/l in mixed riding conditions. Somewhat better on all open roads.

General riding is abliut 5.5l/100km, but cruising at around 120kph is very very economical.

I average around 6.1lt/100km on the triple, which isn't good, but it's capable of much better.

Talked to a guy with a later (stock) S3 who'd just done an economy run at 100kph. He had figures of sub 4lt/100km, which I thought most impressive and even better than he could get out of his Sprint ST.

16.2L/100km if I'm gentle with it. On the reclaim cruises we tend to be more like 18L/100km.

Oh you were talking bikes. Sorry........

You will need to stretch a little more... I take that you mean 6.5 litres/100km. But if you are serious re your 6.5km/l then you would use just over 15 litres/100km's, and if I was you I would start looking for a hole in that tank.

I don't really care, it's the price of freedom.

However the DR-Z usually gets around 24-25km/L, with the odd spurt up to 26/kmL or down to 19km/L, depending on how I'm riding.

Nope. The red light was on when I arrived home (would have had approx 2 litres in tank as light comes on at 4 litres). And light was on when I filled up at the station when I left home.

Running a Triumph 1050 engine it at a steady 100kph should be an arestable offence
