Well I gave it a go, but failed in the end with 5.26lt/100km I'd piss in the 4's with a lengthy downwind leg, but that'd be cheating

    Round figures - 20.5 k per litre.

Go the SV650 with the Dynajet carbie kit in it.

    1st gen GSXR 750

    gets ~ 7L/100km mixed riding or 14km/L

purely around town i think 13km/L . Not sure for 100% open road, but I'd like to think I could do around 300k to a tank with gentle throttle use (19L) = 15km/L

Just by way of comparison of riding styles.

My usual riding (not totally crazy but with a bit of hooning here and there and some acceleration applied in corners) I get around 43mpg in the old money (some 15km/l)

On Sunday last I went down SH3. Sedately. Top gear and keeping just under the legal limit pretty much all of the time. I got just under 50mpg (some 17.8 km/l).

So if you want economy, control your right wrist.
