    95 FZR1000 700km in 2+ years?

OK posted this on the Sport/Road bike forum but go no response!

I'm looking at 95 FZR1000 on TM, however the owner has only put 700kms on it in two and half years of ownership! What problems, if any, would this potentially cause? He claims to have done short rides to keep the fuel lines ok etc.

It should be fine, just be prepared to fork out for a full service as soon as you get the bike, this will most likely cost you over $500, but then you should have a good, reliable bike.

The only problems I might anticipate would relate to stale petrol, leading to plug fouling. Pain in the arse access to plugs. If this happens, no choice but to change them. I would anticipate battery problems unless the owner had rigged up a proper battery tender charger. Probably should budget on a battery replacement as well.

    oil and grease every thing

grease can dry out and then bearings can f*** out

rubbers can dry out as well (Tyres and rubber carb boots etc)

don't let that put you off if the price is right

Not like its sat idle for 2 years, cant imagine there will be any problems at all.ive had cars that have sat round not even started for periods up to a year that fire straight up.Fwiw i wouldnt have done 700kms on the old TLS in the shed in the last 2 years with no problems whatsoever.
