Handlebar mountable camera on 1-Day today

Thought some of you lot might be interested in this, nice lightweight camera to strap on to your bike if you're wanting to record anything.

That's a pretty low resolution camera, but it seems good for the price.

    31/8/2010: 1-Day Cammshot

1-Day have a camera that might be suitable for use on a bike. Cheap. $70. Normally $200 they say.

Don't know much about this. Anybody care to venture an opinion on it?

Poos resolution. Says nothing about noise reduction properties of microphone.

Get what you pay for here I think..

I'd definitely get one if I wasn't saving up for suspension upgrades.

If you expect a $400 camera then you'll be disapointed but I don't know why you would

I got one last time they were on at that price... definitely get what you pay for but as a tool to catch some trail riding it's ok. Audio is crap. Battery on board is a good idea, plugs in to the computer ok and needs a micro sd card. Think from a 4 gb card get about an hour of filming but battery only lasts 40 mins max. But whadya expect for $70?

I and a mate have just gone through this process and brought similar cheap as helmet cams.

The quality is vaguely acceptable. I though I would buy one as they were cheap and I could use it as a second camera when I upgrade to a nice full HD one. Most of the time the camera is shaking around at high speed so I figured it would be fine to have mediocre quality.

After I bought mine, however, Peeteey mentioned he used one of these which seams like great value for full HD. Only problem then is how you would mount it security to your moca byk?

One of these or the ubiquitous Go Pro would be ideal.

Nother thing to remember if you go the HD route is that unless you have a beefy computer, it will be slow to edit and render. My Hampton Downs vid really made my computer cry.

Yep.. went looking on trademe earlier and stumbled on at least 20 of those key rings ones for under $30. Thats me sorted just waiting to pick up a $1 reserve one for hopefully a few less dollars than they want.

Chuck in my 2 or 4gb card from my cellphone and see how the videos come out.

Planning to hopefully mount mine inside the helmet somewhere to avoid wind noise. Should be do-able.

Won an auction for $18+6 shipping last night. Will keep all posted. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=313866580

In other news, here is the footage from my first run with the action cam thingy. Mount was a little high so the sky made everything else look darker...
