What did you do on your bike this weekend?

Well, this weekend I thought I would give my bike a once over, service and maintenance check. It's been about 8,000km since the last change so about due.
I checked the oil, still clear, slightly yellow, still super hard to read on the disp stick. Changed the filters, air and oil.
CHecked the tyres, running a Metzler on the front, and a Bridgstone on the rear. Front has done 18,670km and is about just over half worn, the rear has done just over 11,500 an has about 2000 left on it tops. (don't really like the Bridgestone, not so grippy in the wet)
Checked and changed brake pads, rear were shot completely, front not far behind.
Went for a ride and ran everything in, just a short one, only 400km round trip with some buddies.
Back to work Wednesday and my usual 120km commute.......

Bike should be sweet for another 10k
I am freindly really, I only bite when provoked

    Farted .....
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Finally got the headlight adjustment to work
    adjusted headlights
farked the fairing when putting it all back together - well really only farked someone else 'bainaid' solution, so didn't break anything new.
    checked brake fluid
    tightend up everything bolt wise

    recheck for wof next sat.
Once it has a wof - the fairing comes back off again, and I look at fitting my bar end mirrors and go looking for some frame mount indicators. and then hack up the headlight mount frame.
She will be nekkid by summer.

Shit . leave the chores for the husband and go for a blatt .. I do (well, leave them for the wife ... and don't go off half-cocked feminist ... I never do them right anyway so it saves her having to do them again - she can do them the first time ...)

I cleaned and polished mine, checked the tyre pressures and took it out for a GENTLE ride in the Wairarapa with a few friends. I haven't done gentle in a long time, and it gave me the chance to focus on what is going wrong with my bike around corners, and try to pin point why it kicks me off my line every time.

It helped hugely, and it seems it may not have been the problem I had been so focused on. Just need to slow down a little to be able to take a bit more in.

Then I rode home in the wet, and cleaned it again. Sigh, when will I just get over it?

The weeks shopping - surprsing how much you can get on a bike but watch out for the vege's flying out over the cage behind - trip to recycling center dropping off cardboard boxes and picking up some paint for the garage. (must remember to slow even more for the speed humps)
