Went for another ride today, Great weather and lots of other bikes out but didn't have the same problem, must have been in a better headspace and all the friendly waves and nods from the other bikers probably helped

....just teaching my son to drive....he is not bad, but as soon as i jumped in the passenger seat he would turn to shit....had the big relax talk ....jumped in beside him yesterday morning...cracked a couple of funnies with him while he drove...he relaxed and i disappeared from his mind....cool drive from then on....made him feel good, me too....

....later on down the straight at Ruapuna, right in front of the crowd behind the pit wall, i missed a gear.....banged it back into gear ....wrong gear...locked up ....found neutral....and another one....slowed enough to nearly take out another rider who was behind me.....it only happens when someones watching....

Sounds like you hold a bit too much value in what someone else may think of your riding mate.
You're obviously a n00b, we all have been. Things will only get better, fact.

OH yes....one should never let the opinions, or ones perceived, of another influence how you conduct yourself.

Riding is you, your bike and the road....(oh and all that other stuff, traffic, wind, dogs, rain, speed, twisties, kamikaze insects followed by birds)

Enjoy your ride...it is yours alone.

Been riding a long time, and even now can find that mystery gear that makes more noise than movement, don't let it worry you.
