How NOT to do night riding...

head to cape reinga on a there and back, from auckland at 1pm. When dark falls, find out the hard way you've just lost low beam. Do the 50 odd km to kaitaia on high beam to get gas. 40km out of kaitaia going south, lose high beam as well. Limp to whangarei using indicator and piggy backing vehicles. Good bastard gijoe already informed and on his way here with another bulb.

Yeah, was quite a windy ride, mostly in the afternoon heading to dargaville. Bridge was gusty 30 min ago, but not that bad.

Saga of a ride, even by our standards. Two bulbs later and still no low beam, then starts working 5 min from home. Ride report to follow tomorrow, well, later today

Fark me, most expensive bulbs eva! Tch, me being a moron and all ... :slap:

As gremlin says, ride report to come, I'll chip in my two cents and ... why oh why do I ever keep riding with this nexus of weird happenings?

All good, just part of the passing paegantry of being a biker! (all things considered, I still got TWO rides out of it!)

I know the feeling. I was coming back to Auckland. Just passed Waihi and all lights go dead.
I booted it to try and beat sun-set (it was about 7pm), but alas I only got about 25min daylight.
Ended up have an interesting blast where I would guess what was coming every 20m due to indicator flashrate.
But then it started to rain real bad.
    Scary trip

    You have my sympathies.
