I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
The ADV shots were about 1/7 of the total - my biggest problem was picking what to use. Crash space reserved; any interest from Rosie?
If she's put off by the sand, I had thought that we could head straight down the beach to the campsite, get set up and then go play with unladen bikes.
EDIT: Whoops, missed the "We" on the first skim read. I take it the booking is for 2 then?

A good tide calculator here http://www.niwa.co.nz/our-services/o...services/tides
..has high tide on the 13th at 1pm and low tide at 1pm on the 20th - I'd strongly recommend the 20th unless you plan to be on the beach by 9am on the 13th.
Well done on the job front!

Exactly right and what I had in mind to get around the problem of a favourable afternoon tide being unfavourable the following morning.
Right, being playing around on the Niwa site and here's how it goes: -
6/11 high tide 10.05 am - 7/11 high tide 10.49 am - height 1.5 m
13/11 high tide 3.34 pm - 14/11 high tide 04.04 am - height 0.8 m
20/11 high tide 9.20 am - 21/11 high tide 09.58 am - height 1.0 m
What this amounts to is that Paturoa is right - not with the exact time of high tide as it turns out but that access on the weekend of the 13/14 is difficult. In fact high tide timing could not be worse for what I am planning on that weekend even though it will be a relatively low tide peak. Sorry guys, but that means a change of plans and the weekend of November 13/14 is out.
The weekends either side are ok however, for getting in on the Saturday and not impossible for getting out early Sunday if we need to. I am hopeful that the Sunday tide will not matter though, because as Jamie points out, the last time we were in there, we found a quite well-established track from the campground up the bluff.
Can't guarantee that it still exists, but that just adds more interest, eh?
So, to summarise, it's either Nov 6/7 or Nov 20/21.
Let me know your preferences.

Oh yes, seen those before. Turns out that you can make anything fly if you can bolt on enough power.
Control is a (w)hole different matter though
The most inventive I have seen, in the flesh so to speak, is a witch on a broomstick where her cape was a Rogallo (hang-glider) wing.
