Went out late yesty afternoon, 4pmish.
Pat was saying that Darryl King & another guy were there on Saturday & were carving it up. In his words '...F**k those guys can GO BRO!!!"

Don't understand the post above saying it's impossible out at Whatawhata, I'm no pro but manage easily around there.
I did get some footage of the track (only me riding though, not D.K.) so I'll see if I can post it on youtube soon so you can see for yourself.

4 sure - Mangakino (Tokoroa MX track) is the best out
Helicopters do land there too APPARENTLY

Sure the tracks aren't as long as kimmy's but they were nice & groomed without any of those horrible Hard packed continous judder bars.

$10 to ride, plenty of parking, toilet & water. Some nice jumps that give you the option to either cruise or launch & also a couple of harder jumps for the better riders.

I'll be spending a lot more time out there over summer, especially as it's only 20 mins from Hamilton.

Hey Steve, I'm sure i talked to you on the phone? just shifted to the area and you were looking for places to ride around Hams? I've got the RM250.. ring any bells? Owen

even on the Gas Gas i struggled with the impossible drop offs and massive hills and huge jumps over streams

I've talked to friends who have said that the track has changed quite a bit so I guess it depends on how long ago you went there. I originally heard it was pretty tough & slippery & I imagine it could get a tad slick when wet.

Dunno, check it out again, seemed pretty easy to me.
